Third Skin, 2025
Hana Al-Saadi
Variable foam
Rubber bricks carry the imprint of skin, their marbled surfaces pressed into the gaps where bricks are missing—along sidewalks, street corners, and edges of the city. This quiet intervention folds the body into public infrastructure, reclaiming space in ways that are intimate, unnoticed, and quietly subversive.
The work explores themes of femininity, domestic space, outward appearance, and material presence, blurring the line between the human body and everyday objects while seeking the small openings that allow navigation through what is culturally restrained.
