Pieces of Luck, 2025
Jodae
mural
Pieces of Luck (Working Title: 21st Century Chain Letter of Luck) is a mural that visualizes the invisible energy of “luck” — small, miraculous encounters in daily life. Borrowing the form of a chain letter, the mural becomes a giant message of collective fortune.
The wall is filled with indecipherable characters that resemble ancient script. Rather than decoding them, viewers are invited to receive a silent suggestion: “If you see this, luck will come.” Through these sacred-like symbols, the work plants quiet seeds of hope and positivity.
Beyond superstition, this piece encourages reflection and gratitude for the easily missed, meaningful moments around us. Its message of luck is meant to transcend time and space, lingering softly in the hearts of those who pass by.

About the Artist
Jodae blends Korean aesthetics with graffiti to create original styles and mediums. Drawing from cultural beliefs and shamanism, he visualizes spiritual beings through patterns or Hangul-based characters. These mystical forms implicitly express his hope to ward off misfortune and invite good luck by contrasting symbols of fortune and misfortune.
