Cities Under Tension, 2025

Rope, found urban structures, site installation, video documentation

Cities Under Tension is a series of temporary installations made with rope and found structures in public space. Each piece introduces tension into an existing environment - rope stretched across bridges and between objects in the street - forming brief geometric interruptions in the flow of the city.

The works were created in New York and Seoul as part of uncommissioned by Nōvo Collective.

About the Artist

Julian’s practice is an ongoing study of line, tension, and rhythm in space.

He works with rope and found structures to create simple, temporary gestures within the built environment - part drawing, part sculpture, part experiment.

Each piece tests how a material can hold, divide, or connect a place.
