Inscripcions is a kind of "extimate diary" of the city’s users, observed and commented upon by Mathieu Tremblin, which unfolds across various surfaces—walls, urban furniture, and discarded objects.
Inscripcions re-enacts and displaces these observed customs in the form of brief statements affixed to transient elements of the city, using a digital typography reminiscent of a communication terminal, which enables the act of note-taking.
For Playground of the Invisible, a series of texts is installed in various places in Strasbourg. These texts are then interpreted as performance scores by performers Léa Hussenot and Corentin Seyfried, and documented by visual artist Thomas Lasbouygues by hacking the data stream of the many CCTV that can be found in public space.

About the Artist
Mathieu Tremblin (born 1980, France) is a visual artist and an associate professor in visual arts at ENSAS – Strasbourg Architecture School. He lives in Strasbourg and works across Europe and beyond. His work is inspired by anonymous, independent, and spontaneous practices and expressions found in urban spaces. He uses simple, playful creative processes and actions to question the systems of regulation, representation, and symbolism that shape the city. Tremblin also develops a research-creation practice that takes the form of urban intervention series, editorial experiments, exhibition curation, and residency programs. His research-creation is interested in: tools and storytelling that support urban interventions (like Office de la créativité, Die Gesellschaft der Stadtwanderer, Public Domain Public); sensible diagnosis and urban survey approaches (Folksotopy, Capter la ville); the URL–IRL dynamics in publishing and urbanism (Éditions Carton-pâte, Book Brutality festival); collaborative and co-creative protocols (Porte-parole, Paper Tigers Collection, Affichage libre); the connections between creativity, micro-history, and social struggles (Fonds documentaire de l’Amicale du Hibou-Spectateur, Post-Posters, Arts & luttes seminar).
