Gabriela Andrade Gorab

About the Critic

(also known as Gabriela Gorab) is a Mexican curator, cultural producer, and art writer. She holds a degree in Arts from Bond University, Australia, and has completed international studies in Psychology (UQ), Art (MoMA), Social Development with Nobel Laureate Esther Duflo (MIT), Human Development with Michael Sandel (Harvard), and Entrepreneurship at MIT.


As curator and  co-founder of the platform Artists’ Container, she promotes contemporary art through curatorial projects, strategic alliances with galleries and art fairs, and critical writing. She recently curated Códigos del PhD Ernesto Ríos at the Centro de las Artes de San Luis Potosí, one of Mexico’s most important cultural venues and home to the Leonora Carrington Museum. 


She has authored curatorial texts for exhibitions and institutional projects with artists such as Darío Ortiz, Andrés Alarcón—with a catalog sponsored by MINART and the Instituto Cultural de Aguascalientes—Felipe Cifuentes, Luigi Fantini, and Fernando Moreno—contributing to his book Palabra de Mar,


Beyond curating, Gorab has extensive experience in audiovisual production as a partner of El Lion que Ruge Films, an independent film company with more than 20 years of work in advertising, documentaries, and short films showcased at international festivals. She has authored over 300 publications on art, culture, and innovation, with her writing and projects featured in Forbes, Vogue, Reforma, La Jornada, and El Economista. She has also been editorial director of MM México Moda and a panelist at Food Art Week, Arte Capital, RIMEL, AMMJE and The Cloud One in Soho House, México City.


Her curatorial vision transcends the visible, infused with alchemy and humanity, while drawing on a scientific heritage from her family—always seeking to expand the transformative power of art.
